Help For Landowners/Farmers
The September 27 meeting of Greene Co. Farm Forum features important information for landowners and farmers who have an interest in getting help to address conservation practices on their property through technical and or financial help. This includes erosion control, wildlife enhancement, water quality, cover crop plantings, soil improvement and pond development to name a few. Program speakers include Amanda McKay of the Greene Soil and Water Conservation District (GSWCD) and Meghan Moser of the Natural Resource and Conservation Service (NRCS). Both agencies operate out of the building located at 1363 Burnett Drive in the Xenia Industrial Park. They will highlight programs each office offers to farmers and landowners as well as how to apply for funding for projects on your farm or property.
The Monday September 27 program will be held in the Union United Methodist Church located at 1145 Union Road, Xenia Oh 45385. A meal for those interested will be provided at a cost of $12/person at 6:30 p.m. To insure we have enough food for those planning to eat prior to the program you are ask you to make a reservation by contacting Paul Ayres at 937-352-6379 or email him at firstname.lastname@example.org. by Friday September 24. The program will follow the meal at approx. 7 p.m. The meeting is free and open to the public.
